Support rural women in Kenya to protect rare species of trees,  fight for climate justice, and promote healthier communities.

In the lowland coastal region of Msambweni, Kenya, women are bearing the brunt of the climate crisis. Facing high poverty levels, many families have no choice but to rely on endangered indigenous trees for cooking fuel, which contributes to habitat loss and puts rare species like Ziziphus robertsoniana (EN) at risk of extinction.

She-Nature, a grassroots women-led initiative, is stepping up to change this narrative. Their project, “Justice in Every Flame,” brings clean energy access, environmental education, and tree restoration to the heart of one of Kenya’s most threatened ecosystems.

What’s at Stake

This fragile, biodiverse region is home to critically endangered trees and rich marine and coastal ecosystems. With deforestation on the rise and mangroves disappearing, women and wildlife alike face growing threats from climate change and environmental degradation.

But with your help, we can turn the tide.

Your Donation Will:
  • Train 30 women in clean cooking alternatives and conservation leadership.
  • Install 10 energy-saving stoves, reducing household emissions and protecting forests.
  • Launch a community-run tree nursery to restore over 1,000 native trees.
  • Engage over 800 residents through environmental outreach and mangrove planting.
  • Empower women as stewards of their ecosystems, equipping them to take climate action.

This project is more than a cooking initiative—it’s a catalyst for justice, dignity, and environmental healing.

Why Act Now?

We urgently need to raise $2,500 to fund this life-changing 3-month program. Every dollar supports women-led solutions that protect biodiversity, improve health, and reduce poverty.
